101 Words Your Child will Spell by the End of Grade 1

Parents of first–graders in both standard schools and home schooling programs will find valuable teaching and learning tools in this book and CD–ROM. It's designed to enhance their child's ability to spell words correctly and take their first steps in communicating effectively in writing. The 101 words chosen for these spelling exercises fall into the category the author calls “non–decodable,” i.e., words that do not follow typical spelling patterns. Among them are words such as father, through, climb, know, and others that first graders invariably find difficult to spell. Exercises include matching syllables from multiple–choice lists, spelling games, mazes, riddles, puzzles, and several other fun learning activities. The CD–ROM provides additional interactive spelling games and puzzles that will add more fun to the learning experience.
