Nancy Alberts Scholarship

The Nancy Alberts Scholarship is a financial-need based contest in honor and memory of our friend and author Nancy Alberts. The scholarship involves submitting five pages of your work, a statement describing how you will benefit from the weekend, and a paragraph explaining your financial need. The winner of this scholarship receives an expense paid spring retreat.

Annual Summer Critiquenic Contest

This contest requires attendance at the Annual Summer Critiquenic and waives the critiquenic fee. The winner of the contest also receives a free Fall Conference.

On the Wall Contest

Again and again, visiting writers, editors, and agents remind us that a story must jump off the page from the start. A writer has only a page or two to catch the attention of a busy editor.

The On the Wall contest involves posting the first page of your work "on the wall" at the fall conference for peer voting. The winning entries will be read aloud during the conference luncheon, and the entry fees will be totaled and split among the winners.

Any SCBWI member attending the conference who has not yet had a book published or accepted for publication may enter the contest.
